Due to the current pandemic, we have decided to cancel this years WestFest.
We look forward to seeing you in 2022.
On Saturday August 10th West Harptree village hosted it's first summer fete; West Fest 2019, supported by Gigaclear Broadband.
The organisers were not beaten by the challenging weather conditions and the stalls and activities were moved to the Memorial hall and the Crown Inn.
The proceeding were opened by Pete Budd from the Wurzels. The local police judged the children's fancy dress competition and Jacob Rees-Mogg, MP for North East Somerset, had the privilege of calling out all the names of the lucky winners of some fantastic raffle prizes.
The event was very well attended and all things considered was a very successful day. There were many stalls from a traditional coconut shy and hook a duck, sweets, cakes and candy floss on sale. There was a lovely indoor space at the hall for children's arts and crafts, all put together by the fantastic Cotton & Canvas events.
The fete ran alongside a real ale & cider festival hosted by the Crown Inn in West Harptree which was also a great success.
The organisers would like to thank everyone who came along, volunteers who ran a stall and donated prizes, to support the hall and Max Sewart. Even with the poor weather we raised an impressive £1240 We look forward to hosting West Fest 2020.
Look out for future events being being held in the village of West Harptree in the coming months as they're sure to be as successful as this one.
See you at WestFest 2020.
Karen, Felice, Jo, Ginny, Sarah, Simon, Hannah and Rob and Carol from The Crown Inn.
