INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?
West Harptree Memorial Hall is a community led charity run by volunteers from the village. We have just finished the first part of the refurbishment of the hall, the first since the 1950s. We have been lucky to receive a grant from the National Lottery for £40,000 plus two grants of £1000 each from Diagio and Arnold Clark.
We are now in the process of applying for an additional £10,000 from the National Lottery to complete the upstairs.
We understand that your time will be limited, but we are keen to use your help and, we hope, find something interesting for you to do.
Broadly our activities fall into a number of strands of work, which include:
-
Committee Member – for example organising and maintaining the hall, taking bookings, volunteers, film festivals and outdoor events, even down to serving tea and coffee at one of our events or sourcing raffle prizes.
-
Manning the bar when it's been booked.
-
Marketing and publicity, which includes emails, website, Facebook, twitter, press, etc.
-
Artwork, including e-posters, e-mails, website resources.
-
Screenings – setting up and operating the screening equipment. This is definitely not rocket science, so don’t be put off if you don’t yet know about projectors and sound systems!
Please contact us with your name, email address and a short message and we will get back to you for further discussion.
